Platinum Stairlifts began making stairlifts in 1996. Its range of custom built straight and curved models are manufactured in Yorkshire and sold by approved local dealers across the UK. The company specialises in making high quality stairlifts tailored to their customers’ needs.

Platinum offers customers the option of an Ergo seat on its Horizon Plus and Curve models. The Ergo seats come is a choice of designs; the Standard, Plus and Space. They are ergonomically designed for maximum support and comfort. The key feature of Ergo seats is that they can be adapted to meet the precise individual needs of the user.

For instance, the Ergo Space may be the best solution if you have particularly narrow stairs. And people with shorter legs may benefit from the Ergo Plus, as it’s designed so users can comfortably rest their feet on the footplate.

The Horizon

The Horizon is Platinum’s straight stairlift. It is designed to operate on a single anodised aluminium rail on staircases that run in a straight line. It can be installed with a hinged rail so the lift can be folded out of the way when not in use. The Horizon can be adapted to an outdoor stairlift that can be used outside in all weather.

There are two models in the range, the Standard and the Plus.

Features of the Horizon Standard:

  • A maximum weight capacity of 19 stone (120kg).
  • A manual swivel seat.
  • A digital diagnostic display on the carriage, beneath the seat.
  • Remote controls.
  • A lap seatbelt for safety.
  • A switch control.

Additional Features of the Horizon Plus:

  • The Plus is a more heavy duty model, with a weight limit of 22 stone (140kg).
  • An Ergo chair, which comes with the option of a powered swivel.
  • An adjustable seat, seatpad and footrest.
  • A digital diagnostic display on the arm instead of the carriage.
  • An ergonomic joystick control.
  • A retractable seatbelt.

The Platinum Curve

The Platinum Curve is Platinum’s curved model, which is designed for stairs with bends and turns. Platinum’s curved stairlifts are hand-built in Yorkshire to fit the exact layout of your stairs. The company strives to make their Curve models within 7 days.

Features of the Platinum Curve:

  • A weight limit of 19 stone (120kg). A heavy duty version, the Curve HD is also available, with a weight limit of 25 stone (160kg).
  • An ergonomic joystick control.
  • A swivel seat, with an optional powered swivel. The option of an Ergo seat. A digital diagnostic display on the arm. A retractable seatbelt.
  • A range of different upholstery colours.
  • The ECO Curve

The Eco Curve is a reconditioned stairlift that has been fully refurbished and tested to meet industry standards. For your peace of mind it comes with a 12 month warranty.

Platinum markets the ECO Curve as being a cost effective and environmentally friendly option. By purchasing an approved used stairlift instead of a brand new one you could save money, although whether a suitable secondhand model is available will depend on stock at the time you place your order.

Platinum’s reconditioned carriages are installed with brand new rails that are hand-built to fit the new owner’s stairs.
